CARMEN Thoroughbreds, LLC is an endeavor created by 37-year commercial real estate entrepreneur, Chris Carmen, to combine his experience in business with his passion for thoroughbreds and the sport of horseracing. The thoroughbred industry provided a unique opportunity for Chris to find an intersection of his passions for sports, business, and these majestic creatures. After participating in a few horseracing partnerships, Chris wanted a more positive and engaging experience beyond a weekly update by email. To have a more complete experience and to have better control over his equine investments, Chris decided to pursue opportunities on his own and with few partners with similar interests and the same passion for the sport and these majestic creatures……and CARMEN Thoroughbreds was born!
As a person who did not grow up around thoroughbreds and the horseracing industry, Chris made it a priority to assemble team of equine professionals that specialize in identifying, training, racing, and breeding of thoroughbreds. Rather than focusing solely on racing’s “high risk and low return”, CARMEN Thoroughbreds focuses on opportunistic buying of horses often overlooked by racing syndicates. Our team seeks to identify undervalued horses for racing, pinhooking and breeding—allowing us to generate solid returns from more than just winning races.
